Samsung phones secretly sending photos to contacts

So this is fun:

The issue here is that the Samsung messaging app is secretly sending photos to people's contacts, sometimes your entire photo album!

To quote:
"Do S9's come with divorce lawyers?"

"Give me a spontaneously exploding phone any day of the week, Samsung, instead of this nightmare scenario."
Not sure which models are effected by this minor issue, but S9s, Note 8 are but a few. Seems the solution is to disable access to your photos/files for now.

Or any other messaging app.

I hope when it said "sent my entire photo album by text" it meant a link to a cloud backup, and not every single image as a separate MMS! That would be bloody expensive for the sender and annoying for the recipient.

But it's not the first time Samsung have messed up with image privacy. I remember some years ago one phone, I think it was the S3, originally came with a default setting to share photos on the device with anyone on the same WiFi network. Of course people don't check all of the default settings, so this caused some embarrassment when some people found very personal photos being shared on the office network...

But if someone insists on taking nude pictures of their wives or girlfriends theu may send them to me and I will dispose of them
