Help Samsung S3 Android 4.1 update problem

Howdy y'all,

I'm just performing my first firmware update on my first ever Android device (after defecting from Apple) and I'm not sure if I've hit a problem.

It took about 2 hours to download the update to my pc and now my phone says "Downloading, Do not turn off target!!" but the blue progress bar hasn't changed for about an hour - it's about 5mm long and appears to be stuck there.

I'm reluctant to disconnect the phone (as I don't want to have to restart the whole process) but am unsure if it's doing anything.

Any ideas of what to do would be appreciated!

Hi, I had this problem with the last update on my previous phone, I found that turning off Anti Virus and Firewall on my computer cured it, risky I know but it worked. Phil

Leave it a little bit longer. It's always a bit risky to disconnect your phone in the middle of a firmware upgrade, but if it doesn't move soon you'll have to I think.
