Help Samsung S5 purple/blackish ink bleed on affected parts of screen

So my dad told me that his phone randomly stopped working, I took a look at it and it looked fine until i turned it on. We recently removed the insurance on the phone and I felt as if that was the worst move i have told. Take a look at the pictures, is it fixable? The parts that weren't effected like the top of the screen works fine.

I have had two cellphones that looked exactly like that.....
both of them went into the trash can as I could buy a replacement for under $10 off ebay.

Somehow, your dad's phone has a bad ribbon cable/connector between the motherboard and the display.

If you have any repair services close to you, drop in and see if they will fix it.
I called on a S4 last year and they quoted me $199 plus tax... to replace the screen.

Did your dad have a habit of carrying the phone in his hip pocket? That is such a bad idea, and yet I see it everyday..... folks wearing super tight hip hugger pants and the cellphone in the hip pocket begging for a crush job.

Uh, he uses the clip on thing to his pants/belt thing. The case was an otterbox defender.

Looks like a smashed in lcd happens when pressure is applied to the screen and lcd. Pressing to hard or dropped
