Samsung S6 2019 New Os options?

Hi all, Wife upgrade to the s9 plus and so i took over her s6 today. my last os i put on my htc desire is no longer available, So im asking you all what os is best to upload to the s6. So many options but id like to hear from those that have used some OS.

The S6 is able to be upgraded to Oreo (8.0). (Pie (9.0) is the latest,but I doubt there's a custom rom for the S6 that uses Pie. What exactly are you looking for? Set away from TouchWiz? or the latest version of Android regardless?

I'm looking to put on a rom that will allow me to run some voip apps and some other apps that will conect to my linux server I recall using Cyanogen before, its now discontinued.

Lineage OS is sort of the successor to CyanogenMod. You can look into that.

Thanks, I will. im also reading up on pie. I have been away from the rooting of phones etc for abkut 10 years. Im sure it shows. Thanks again.
