Samsung S6 running Android V 7

The other night I did a factory reset on my phone and realized I didn't backup all of the phones from my phone prior to performing the reset. I was reading online that I could root the phone to gain access to the photos. Is that true? if so can someone please share what rooting software to use to root a Samsung S6 running android Version 7 successfully. I tried a few the other night but most of them failed during the install phase. Thanks!

A device specific model number is needed. The S6 had alot of different model numbers
