samsung sm-g930u will not work with cricket network

Purchased Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930U unlocked off Amazon. Description said it was an ATT unlocked phone and would work with Cricket Network. But what I received was a Version phone. I also purchased a Cricket SIM Kit, because I needed a nano SIM.

Activated new SIM online. Inserted SIM into new phone, but it will not recognize network. I verified the configuration connection access point matches Cricket. I did notice the "Turn APN on/off" button was grayed out, but it said "APN turned on."

I do now what is causing the disconnect between unlocked phone and Cricket network. The Amazon seller told me, "Live with it, exchange it, or send it back for refund." when I asked for assistance or guidance how to get the phone to work with Cricket.

Cricket representatives don't help either unless I go to a corporate office, which I did. The rep verified that the new SIM works & activated without problem. She put her work SIM & personal SIM into my new phone, but neither would connect.

How can I get the SM-G930U to work on Cricket network?

I bought this phone because I heard many good things about it. It is small and had great reviews. It is also inexpensive, as I do not care about the newest latest phone. I just want to send/receive msgs, calls, youtube, and FB games. This is my first new phone in 5 years.

Any advice is appreciated.

I have a SM-G930T S7 if i believe if you go to About Phone>Software Information and find the "Carrier configuration version" and tap it a few times you will see a new button show up saying "Update" click it and it should update, but it will only update if your sim is active and your network has the same imei registered as your s7 hopefully this resolves it but beyond that i'm not sure, you can also find the pdf online for the s7 instruction manual

"But what I received was a Version phone."

“a Version phone". Do you mean Verizon?
Which would actually be a G930V.

The G930U is definitely an unlocked US variant S7, and should work I think.

Can you confirm the exact model number in the settings? If it is a V, Verizon variant you'll probably need to return it to Amazon, for exchange for what you ordered.[/QUOTE]

Go into your Baseband options VIA Dialer option, and change the baseband. I recently did this for a friend.
