Help Samsung tablet- bank app incompatible.

My friend has a Samsung galaxy tab 3 and he tried to download two banks apps from the Play store but instead of seeing the download option it just said that the app is incompatible with the device.
He is baffled because he used to use them before, on the same tablet.
I think he did a reset at some point.
Has anyone any idea as why all of a sudden he cannot use those on his tablet?

I'm not sure , but its possible that the banking app uses a vpn, in which case he should try enabling a pattern or password lockscreen before installing. (VPNs dont work without this). Thats the only thing I can think of..

If he rooted the device that is a possibility as Barclays app wont work on rooted devices

He didn't do anything, he just did a couple of reset for some niggling problems, that's all.

He didn't root the device, he wouldn't know how to do it if his life depended on it.
Something must have changed from the time he could download the apps and now.
Is Barclays the only one not working with a rooted device?
Funny enough, I have just rooted my phone today with towelroot, as I wanted to stop automatic software updates. If/when they roll out Lollipop I don't want it on my phone, I am quite happy with kit kat.
