When you plug your tablet into your computer's USB port, there's two different things going on. One is the charging aspect, the other is the data transfer aspect. The charging part is more at a hardware level -- the USB port in your computer is connected to a USB bus inside, that provides the power to charge your tablet. It's essentially the same no matter what you're plugging into because it's not a software/operating system issue, it's hardware. The data transfer issue however, is more involved, especially with Windows as this often involves loading a driver file(s). The driver is needed in Windows for the operating system to interact with whatever device you're connecting to it. If the Windows OS doesn't/can't mount that device, than Windows Explorer can't detect it, nor can any of the applications.
So that's why when you connect your tablet it can still get charged up but you can't see it using Windows Explorer. You need to get a working driver installed. Try installing Samsung's Smart Switch utility. It will install the proper driver first, and then the utility itself.

Pretty sure tablets are the same as phones with default USB connection as Charge Only. When you connect your USB cable, pull down the drop down menu at the top of the tablet and tap on the USB icon and select MTP or file transfer.

I'm not plugging my tablet into a PC......just plugging in a USB stick into Tablet. Besides...it was working before.....why has it stopped?

My tablet doesnt have a pull down menu from the top......they are not like an Android....

Try the usb stick in another device and see if it is recognized .
The stick may be dead

Your tablet is running Windows 10 and not Android. Makes things a little clearer.
Does sound like a driver issue unless the USB port is now bad.
Had trouble with my desk top Ethernet dumping it's driver a few times. Think update fixed it.

The stick works on other devices.....its not the stick.......have uninstalled drivers but same issue........its not even showing up......

Try the port with another known good USB device,

I think that pretty much confirms it's a duff port. Because power or charging is on completely separate connections to data and recognising devices.

Yes.
Plug in other USB devices and see if windows recognizes them.
That's pretty much the test.
