Help save files in google drive...

is it possible to save a file from your google drive but on your tablet?

sorry i am not finding anything on the internet!

Francois

Do you mean move it from your drive into your tablet? Check out ES File Manager...I use it and it has the ability to do that. Only annoying thing it that it still moves it into the bin in your google drive.

No. No. No. No. No. That would completely defeat the main purpose for using Google Drive. GD is designed to save your files in a Google server and then allow you to access said files over wifi, not to view, then download the files.

I can see just why you'd want to save a local copy - for when you wish to work on a document when you have no WiFi connectivity.

I've used offline files many times and uploaded to Google when I've got home.

i was just being lazy, was hoping to transfer some songs to GD, then retreive them on my N7!!

but it looks like i will have to get up, get the wire, hook the wire, hahaha =P

thanks for the help everyone!!

I completely get why someone would want to use Google Drive as a remote drive such that you can copy anything file to and from it. I guess I'm old school because I don't trust cloud storage. There are too many places at work where I get no wireless signal so it's necessary to make things local. Also, since I'm a geek, I want to control where it is kept locally, not Google.

ES File Explorer does allow you to do that but honestly, I use Dropbox because I find it easier to maintain.

I have a bunch of mp3 songs on my computer, if it is possible, what do I need to do to get them to load onto my nexus and then play through the speakers or a headset?

I'm in Canada and I've been using it for months - we just don't have the ability to purchase music here.

hmm that is weird, on the nexus 7 site, i saw that it was easy to transfert your itunes library to google music, but i didnt find anywhere to do that! any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the Google Music website (http://play.google.com/music I think), there's an upload music link there that will allow you to download the Music Manager software. You can have it upload your entire iTunes library (or just specific playlists, songs, etc).

Once done you can see your music in the Play Music app on your devices!

EDIT - just saw the message you're seeing. That's so odd, both my wife and I (in Southern Ontario) are able to access and use the Google Music service fine for months now.

thanks for the help but i tried different links to install/downbload i m always getting that same message, and if i try to downlaod it not logged in, it is asking me to log in

anyone else in canada using google music??

One surefire way to get it working is use a proxy to visit the site so you appear to be visiting from the US.
