Save older apps

There was a post on here about saving older APKs.

Is there a good way to save such?

I am presently unrooted, and do have Helium, but I have rooted phones and used Titanium.

Some apps, even when backed up, don't see the databases and insist on updating regardless. I have about 4 purchased apps I would like to back up to keep the older versions since what they are adding to the new ones is a sort of nagware to join social push. The older app and the data bases are just fine.

A couple of these apps I purchased years ago when they were $9.99. The price for all has now dropped.
The problem was with my current phone. One installed and Google told me the rest weren't compatible.
That's Google since I repurchased the apps from Amazon at a 99 cent special and they work just fine.*

I also have one baseball news app that disappeared from my apps, and the original Weatherbug elite.
Those are on a 4.1 Acer A-500. Apps got weird on the phone, so I didn't update the tablet.

I'd like to make sure I get all of the apps and the databases and have them backed up for when I do change phones. Having to repurchase to get them annoyed me.

*This is one company. I'm not mentioning as I have dealt with them in other contexts live and don't like some of their practices. The software developer is probably only following the company rules.

I bought AppMonster Pro some time back. It saves all the previous APKs on my SD so I can uninstall the current and reinstall the older. I realize that won't help in your current situation, but it would going forward.

When I asked this question recently, the suggestions were Helium Backup, or App Backup & Restore. I used the 2nd option & it was easy to use, worked perfectly, & is free.

I have Helium Backup, haven't had to use it yet. TB worked just fine with the apps APK, just the databases disappeared.
Most of the other apps just downloaded the DB after they found the proof that I bought the app. Some of the DB are HUGE!
You are warned to use wifi, and it can take 3 hours for a couple. Something over 10,000 files on a couple.

Two of the apps are on the tablet.

We really need an "old version" of apps. Quite a few posts from people not liking the new version of a lot of apps. I'll check out AppMonster Pro.

The only goofyism is where they hide the backups, on the external SD, Android\data\com.think_android.appmanagerpro\files\backup. I think you can change that location on install, can't remember now.
