I am trying too help my wife out on saving a game that she has been working on for years and needs to save it on a external sd card. before we do this, (root the device, get file mover I think ), and put the game on a sd card, will that save ALL her game data, as too not lose any of her levels. she needs to reset her tab for some issues and does not want too lose any of her game data ? What's the game? If you have to sign in to Google Play Games, it should sync your save data to the cloud.
Alternatively, look at something like Helium Backup on Play, that should allow you to save game/app data without root. To test, try backing the data up from her device, then restoring it on another.
