Saving pictures to laptop.

so i got this phone for christmas and like all the pictures i take with it arent saving to my SD card.
like when i take out the SD card and put it in my laptop to save the pictures , the pictures arent there....
HELP!
how do i get them to save to my SD card?
or at least how can i get them onto my laptop ?!

the pictures should save automatically, unless you are accidently deleting them after taking them. try taking them and sending them from the phone to picasa
