Saying Hello

Hello my names Marwan Antill. I currently live outside of the U.S and have a U.S Asus TF 101 and a Middle East Motorola Razr. I joined because I often refer to these threads for help and advice and would like to participate. I currently am facing problems with installing ICS to my motorola razr.

Hello!

This is my first post to this forum so i'll give it my best. I have a motorola Razr which is from the middle east. I really want ICS on it however an update for it is not available for the middle east. I have previous experience rooting and installing roms for my asus TF101. I am however facing issues with rooting this phone. It originally came with gingerbread 2.35. I rooted it however had not installed Clockwork mod recovery only Clockwork mod. Not sure of the differences. So due to this I was not able to install my rom which is 4.04 which i got and followed instructions from this website: Install Android 4.0.4 ICS Update on Motorola Razr XT 910

When booted into recovery mode using the the button method and selected install from Zip or something of the similar I got Rom not verified. I believe its due to not having the clockwork recovery. Well about 2 days ago I recieved an over the air update and thinking that it was ICS i accepted and installed. It was sadly just 2.3.6. Afterwards Superuser was not working yet still installed and since then I have not been able to uninstall it. Clockworkmod has no SU permision and neither does SU itself it seems cause when I click update it fails and says root access not granted when trying to install the update. I have root checker though and it says im rooted. I tried to reroot using DOOM Lord V 2 and it says it worked. However I still have no real root access. I reset the device under settings and yet after it it still has Super user and doesnt give me the option to uninstall it. I feel If im able to do clean reset and reroot I might be able to successfully install ICS.

Sorry for the long post.
