saying hi and asking help

hi, I'm Linda B.
I have a nexus s and I'd like to root it safely. my son tells me I need to have it rooted before i can install ice cream sandwich. he was s'posed to send me links but he hasn't yet. can someone help?

Hi Linda! Welcome to Android Forums! There is supposedly an Official ICS update coming for your phone soon, but if you would like to get started early and root your phone, I can very easily help you out! I'll get your links posted up!
