SayMyName Dessert: Who needs individual message tone?

Dorack

Lurker
SayMyName Dessert announces the name of incoming callers and text message senders. When I first got my android phone (HTC Hero), I was disappointed that I could not assign a distinct message tone for each contact. I tried several apps until I found SayMyName Dessert. Now all of my contacts have a distinct message tone.

Pros
  • *Tell who is calling or texting without looking at the phone.
  • *All you contacts have a distinct ringtone and message tone automatically. No need to customize each contact one at a time.
  • *Lots of customization options. Set it to say just the first name, the whole name, or read the whole message, exclude certain people from being announced and many more options.
  • *Free!

Cons
  • *Robotic voice. It uses the built-in android voice, which isn't the most ear pleasing.
  • *Mispronunciations. It pronounces names as best it can, but names are hard, even for us humans.

Bottom Line
Download this app. It does the one thing and it does it well. If you find that you really enjoy it, download SayMyName Donate also to give the developer some money in appreciation.

I have turned off SMS notification but it is still reading sms announcements. I only want phone call announcements. I have gone through every aspect of the settings and know that I have unchecked sms. can anyone help?
