Scheduled Texts in GO SMS

Does anyone know if you set up a text to be sent at a schedule time, does the phone have to be powered on for the text to send at the scheduled time?
 
I don't use GO SMS, I use handscent, but since I have heard the are pretty much the same messaging app. In Handscent, the phone has to be powered on in order to send it. To verify this, set up a scheduled text to yourself, at a time your phone will be off and see if it sent and you received it when powered back on again. (This is how I found out.)

Yeah, that was my next step, but since I never turn my phone off, I figured I'd ask here. We're going to be out of the country, and I got HAMMERED with international data charges last time, so I'm turning my phone off when we're gone.
