Help screen brightness differs

hi guys,

i've just got my new galaxy s3 and i'm really very happy - i guess you all know how this feels like.

but now i've noticed that the screen colors are not always the same. e.g. if i go on a white page the white in the mittle isn't 100% the same as on the buttom of the page. same is the keyboard that above seems slightly a different grey as beneth. the differences are not big but notable.

i wanted to ask you wether this is normal or not??

thanks for you answers and your help!

Do this *#0*# and press call, you will get a test screen for your device.

If you have just received the phone contact the supplier or your network and they should replace it.

You usually only have to go through the manufacturer if a fault develops weeks or months later.

Same issue here. I've looked at a few phones in various stores and they are generally not as bright as the one I have. So it's a bit of a lottery. Send it back for repair and get it back with screen that's darker or yellow and a botched repair job. I'll probably live with it.

Yesterday i've been to my network operator where i've bought my cell and they can only send it to samsung. They couldn't tell me wether it will be repaird or replaced - however it will last for about 1O days...

So you don't think that it will get any better. How i've said the differences are just notable. Maybe i'm too critical?

Thx again for your answers guys! :-)

Hmmm. It's a tough call for me. If I'd noticed it within the initial replacement period I'd have exchanged it. Not sure if I want to send it back for repair. It may come back worse than it went. It's annoying I know. Not everyone will bother about this so I might just sell on eBay.

Don't think it will improve. My iPad has color variation too and it has a Samsung screen. Replaced that a number of times and the one I have now was the best of a bad bunch.

well that's really a hard issue. i am conscious that i am a bit nit-picking... so i really don't know what to do...

if it's a "normal" problem with amoled displays i can live with it, if it's only with my phone i want to exchange it... but as previous posters said that their display is ok, it might be a bit faulty though...

Yeah I know. Go and look at some in stores and see what they're like. If you prefer these there is a good chance that yours may come back looking like one of them.
