Help Screen Flicker on GS5 on lowest brightness

I've noticed some light screen flicker lately if my phone's brightness slider maybe at 10%. If I turn the brightness all the way down my screen turns this puke green shade and starts strobing like crazy. I normally don't turn it all the way down unless it's night time and I want to conserve battery but even at 10-20% the screen has a flicker to it which is enough to cause a headache. I've also noticed the lower section appears to flicker more than the rest of the screen.

I also notice that sometimes when I wake my phone up, the screen will flash green real quick then will remain solid black while the 2 buttons below are illuminated. I usually have to hit the side button again a couple times for the screen to work properly. Is this a sign that the screen is ready to kick the bucket?

This all seems to have started happening after I updated to Lollipop though I've seen reports from several years ago with other Samsung phones doing something similar, thus not being OS related.

After the 5.0 install finished, I found all kinds of color related nuances that are putrid to me, odd flashes, etc...

I now just keep my phone's brightness on manual at 50-90 percent, depending on time of day.
the Automatic Brightness which worked extremely well with 4.4.4 is now a joke.
It automatically dims the screen so low, it is totally useless.

I got around to recording what is going on, since taking a screenshot won't work, the phone doesn't know it's flickering.

Here's an image of it doing it's lovely baby poop green flicker :)
