Hi,
can anyone assisr with advise on how to lengthen the time before a phone goes to lock out with a HTC One XL. I know you can set the sleep time, but this is not the same as the lock out time.

If you press the power button to have the screen display and normally you swipe up the half circle to begin working, but if you press the power button and get distracted before swiping within about 10 seconds the screen goes black again and you have to press the power button again. It is most annoying. Is there a way to lengthen the time before it goes black again.

thanks

Trish

Welcome to AF! :)

There are screen timeout settings in Display, I think in the stock ROM, there are lock settings in Location & Security. Have you tried there?

Hi Trish,

The phone only "locks out" when it goes to sleep automatically (duration set by sleep time) or when you press the power button to manually put the phone to sleep. I would therefore suggest that sleep time and lock out time are the same thing and you need to lengthen the sleep time duration.

Apologies if I've got the wrong end of the stick.

I believe the OP is referring to when the phone is already locked and you press the power button to unlock it, but don't swipe the circle up (on the stock lock screen) how it will sit on the lock screen for a little while before turning the screen back off. OP wants to make the time it will sit on the lock screen longer before the screen turns back off (which I do not know how to do)

Lock screen replacement apps sometimes have different times as an option, but I don't think it's something that can be changed on the stock sense one, unfortunately
