Help Screen mirroring issues

Hello all,

Hoping someone here can help. I've bought a chromecast for my Samsung HDTV (not a smart TV), so it is now wifi enabled.

I can "cast" to it from supported apps such as youtube or google play, but I want to be able to do a complete screen mirror as it is supposed to be able to do. The problem is that it cannot find the TV when searching for a compatible device to mirror. Anyone know of any issues? Samsung's customer support is terrible!

my understanding was that chromecast did not do full screen mirroring. I think someone had hacked theirs to allow it but generally it does not do it. Sorry

Not going to hack it, if I contact them do you think its something they'll patch?
