So in the past I have owned the blackberry storm 2 and lg dare both with big screens and have bought screen protectors for them. I happen to go threw my reciepts for my blackberry storm 2 witch I owned for 20 months and have spent over $75 on screen protectors which out of 15 only 4 made it on my phone and stayed because the others would go on with bubbles and or get dirt or hair under them and for me I want it to look good. So I am getting around here to the main question just had to set up the big picture. I own the bionic and understand the corning glass is hard to scratch I have seen tons of videos of demos of the keys and screw driver and all the stuff so do I really need a screen protector for this phone... I keep it in my pocket with nothing else in it..... keys and changed are keep in the other pocket. And I would say iam very carefully with my phone I have Insurance and just hate putting on these things and waste money on something I don't really need....please advice I am asked other people I work with and 60% don't use screen protectors and there phones are in excellent condition over the years .......that ks droid community ....

I use a screen protector for my phones because I'm pretty clumsy and I know i'll drop it. But I hate having huge scratches on my screen while I own them. Screen protectors protect the phone for me and I can just change it when there's a scratch and it's like new again!
If you're confident that you don't need one and don't WANT one either, then you shouldn't get it. plus, you'll have your insurance to cover you in case anything does happen.

I use screen protectors and i don't have a big problem with dust, hair, or bubbles.. even with my really cheap amazon ones. If you spent that much money on screen protectors, they were probably nice ones so if you had a problem with hair or dirt or bubbles you probably applied them wrong.
I personally like screen protectors. especially the feel of matte. I would just get it, you never know what'll happen to your phone.

I have a HTC Desire and have just removed my screen protector. It was applied for me at the shop on the day I bought it, beautifully done, but I've been hating my phone from day 1 because of the non-responsive screen. Five swipes or more just to answer a call! Tap an icon, tap again, tap again..you get the picture.

Now my screen is bare and responding instantly to every touch. Friends who also own the Desire say they have no problems with scratching, the screens are very tough and don't need the protector, plus I have mine in a leather case anyway, so really not needed and the screen works so much better without.

I put screen protectors for the mere fact that I'd rather be safe than sorry. Gorilla Glass still do scratch, even if its hard to do so. Also, screen protectors lower sensitivity a bit, so people who find the screen too sensitive put those on.

I honestly think it's better to be safe than sorry.
If you get nice ones and apply them well, I think it'll be worth it one day.
