Screen rotating

Hi, my S5 has stopped rotating photos and the sHealth app has stopped counting steps, any cures. Restarting helps for about 5 minutes then the problem returns.

Sounds like a type of percussive maintenance. Like when one might thump an old broken TV, to try to fix it.

Most likely, the rotation geo sensor is confused.

Try to rotate the phone over and over, switching from left/right to top/bottom to right/left to bottom top. Do this for about a minute...

if you looked at a compass, you would probably also notice that it does not show the proper direction for 'North'

The very fast, rotating method has cured many a confused compass and satellite receiver.

This "problem" is one I have experienced on every cellphone I have owned.
The rotation method above has always fixed them.

Tell you what AZ, the geo sensor doesn't get half as confused as I do! Phil

You can also install, free from the Play Store, Phone Tester (hardware info) to check out your GPS and GPS Status & Toolbox to improve your compass and GPS fix.

Top Tip: Some phone cases and in particular, those with magnetic clasps, can throw out a compass.
