Screen shots in non-root gingerbread?

I've seen several things saying that you can do screen shots in GB without root or without adb cable. like this: http://androidforums.com/android-ne...-3-3-makes-screen-shots-root-free-affair.html

I just did the GB update on my inspire and tried screen shot it trial. It was the only app in the market that didn't require root, it says "will work on some non-rooted phones" didn't work for me.

Anything that will? Is there anything htc might have built in?

samsungs have the possibility of screenshot without root, only pressing back + home (in Froyo or Gingerbread), but is a improvement of samsung not android.

From those threads it sounds like it was just a rumor. I tried the atrix one from xda too, no go.

Someone mentioned something about it being a security risk, I'd never thought about it like that but it really is.
