Help Screen won't swipe after being replaced with a new one

Hello. I just replaced a broken screen on my Blu Life Play Mini with a completely new screen and now my phone won't swipe to unlock. The phone looks brand new like it just came out of the store. The guy tried to repair this swipe problem for 2 days and couldn't. When we brought it home we inserted a SIM card in it and after that I managed to swipe the phone once and unlock it. Been able to connect to WiFi even. Looked that everything was there like before, no information got erased. Tried to call my phone but could not swipe to answer. Some things would react to my touch and others wouldn't. Then it stopped swiping altoghether all over again and haven't changed since.
How do I fix this problem? Also the screen feels a little bit loose on the sides. I remember the original screen felt tighter. That guy didn't do a very good job replacing it apparently. I wonder if this may have anything to do with why its not working?
I'm not in the U.S and the ppl here that fix phones don't seem to know anything. I read few things online. Like the fact that it can be due to the phone being over filled with all kinds of apps and stuff and factory resetting it would solve the problem. I know my phone had too much stuff on it and started having some minor problems. I was just about to clean it up before the screen cracked... Can that be the cause? I have so much information on this phone that I never managed to back up. I wonder if there's anyway I can avoid factory resetting it to fix the screen. Please help.

I really doubt factory reset would fix this. It sounds like the screen connection wasn't made properly. it's most likely a ribbon cable with a small clamp connector. They are a little tricky and if these guys aren't used to working on phones, they probably didn't do it right.

So I should have somebody else have a look at it then and redo the screen installation job, right? In other words the screen has been put in badly? It has nothing to do with the phone itself and its functioning or the fact that its overloaded with information and apps?

That is EXACTLY what he is saying and I concur 100 percent after reading your post! Totally sounds like a "hardware" problem because they didn't put the new screen on right and some kind of connection is lose!! Someone where you are must know how to fix a phone properly if you look around hard enough, especially if the new screen is on now and it seems to be a question of just checking the existing connections to make sure they are good!!

Replaced one on a S3 a few months ago. Went smooth till I tried to use it. No touch function. Digitizer has what looks like a copper foil backing and I had lost a small rubber piece that insulated it from the aluminum frame. Added a few extra pieces of double sided tape and presto.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I took the phone to another person n he told me exactly what happened. The guy who tried to put the new screen damaged it. He opened with the knife from the wrong side damaging the part that's responsible for the phone's swiping...that's why the screen was feeling "loose" around that area. Moron. I have to order a new screen again and have it shipped over here all the way from U.S because this screen is no longer good and I doubt this asshole is going to reimburse me for any of this. I am soo pissed!!!!!
