Screenshot app

Had the phone a week and I'm really impressed. I've got big hands and the keyboard is still usable (less typos than using the on screen keyyboard!).

After setting it up with my essential apps I'm lacking one vital feature... a screen capture utility.

While all previously tested apps require root priviledges, I dont plan on implementing root access. Some light research suggests that as of 2.3.3, there exists a native API that allows screen capture without root priviledges.

I've scoured the Market but can't find any app that uses this new API. Anyone know of an app that works?

No need for rooting
download the android SDK
in tools folder run ddms.bat which will open Dalvik Debug monitor
you should be able to capture screen now .
The so-called apps are not always accurate.

Looking for an app. I've no interest in downloading SDKs and hard connecting to take a screenshot. Defeats the purpose of using a mobile device.

Quite amusing that such an advanced piece of kit can't take screen caps.

It might have been added in the new update but on my phone you can hold down the power button, a screen pops up and you can choose to take a screenshot. It saves it automatically to your phone.
