Screenshot Pro on Google Nexus 7

I recently installed Screenshot pro
and initially set up the countdown time for a
screen shot, and I am getting "service not running"
error. I performed the recursive setup and did
not get any root success messages. However,
when I run my KSH/Bash shell and do a
ls -la
all the files and folders show up as user root
and group root.

Any help would be most welcome.
I have 20 year in solaris and 10 on suse linux
so I am good at debugging software support.

If it gives multiple options/methods for capturing the screenshot, try various ones. I had an issue with Screenshot UX and Android 4.2.2/newer that wouldn't take screenshots.

You can also just press Vol-Up and Power, I believe, and it'll screenshot.
 
I never solved the "service not running" error in my screenshot app I used to use. Is it posisble for you to just use vol-up/power to take a screenshot, or is the timer absolutely necessary?

Can you link the exact app you're using, it would help me figure it out.
