how do I do a screenshot on a Samsung Android stratosphere

Hi, welcome to Android Forums.
I don't know your device so googled 'Samsung Stratosphere screen shot', the answer is 'press power and home buttons together'.
This is common to a lot of devices including my HTC One.
I found it difficult to press them 'together' ie at the same time, more often than not I would end up on the home page having hit the home button first. It's much easier to press and hold the power button then tap the home button (on my HTC One I have about two seconds before the phone options appear).
Your device will save the screen shot in the ScreenCapture folder in Gallery.
