Help SD card changed to internal storage, now Whatsapp can't download images

Hi guys. My S7 Edge was constantly running out of storage so I converted my SD card to internal storage and migrated data. That seems to have solved the storage problem, and most everything else is working fine, but now Whatsapp won't download/save images sent to me: "The download was unable to complete. Please try again later."

Any suggestions? My network connection is fine and I can download/save images from Chrome, so it seems to be a Whatsapp issue. I've tried rebooting the phone and reinstalling the app but those steps didn't help.

This is the issue with moving apps to the SD card, some will work some won't (not designed to use the SD card). I don't bother anymore too much hassle.

Thanks guys. I did try reinstalling Whatsapp (my phone wouldn't permit a full uninstall) and it didn't help. However, I eventually resolved the issue by renaming the Whatsapp folder - I guess the app then thought it didn't exist and created a new folder which is not write-protected. I don't fully understand how I was able to do this, since the folder was marked read-only and I wasn't able to change that status or delete it - but I have a working solution so I'm happy.

May I ask what version of Android are you running? And how did you convert the SD card to internal storage and then migrate data? I have been trying to do this very thing with 7.0 (Nougat) but can't figure it out.

thanks this worked!!

Hey!
I have the same problem, can you please be more specific about which folder did you change the name of? Cause I have a folder "WhatsApp" in my internal memory. So I'm not sure what you mean...
Thanks!
