Help SD card constantly unmounting and mounting (Razr MaxxHD)

Hey, guys... a few days ago, I noticed a warning on my MaxxHD that my SD card had been unexpectedly removed. It didn't seem to come up again for a few days, so I didn't think much of it. Then it happened again. And again. Now, just about every single time I unlock my phone or the screen powers on (because of a text or call), I get a message saying that the SD is "Ready for Removal," immediately followed by a "Preparing SD Card" message. It keeps unmounting and mounting over and over and over.

Any thoughts? Bad SD or something to do with the hardware? I ordered another SD of the same capacity, which will be here tomorrow, so I'll transfer everything to that and see if I can narrow down the possibilities. Just FYI, I have a SanDisk Ultra 32 GB microSDHC Class 10 UHS-1. No other changes or updates were made to the phone immediately before this starting.

I've heard that using Class 10 cards are hit and miss in this device so I went with a Class 4 device. No problems here. Google for Class 10 SD Maxx HD.

Thanks for the advice, PowrDroid! You're right-- I did find some stuff about Class 10 Cards (even before I posted here), but so many complaints seemed to be about SanDisk cards specifically. In searching again just now, I found even more similar complaints, but the speculation on why is pretty much all over the place. Some say it's the card. Some say it's the card brand. Some say it's happening after a JB or system update. It's very tough to narrow this one down!

But again, thank you. If my new card (which should be here later today) still gives me problems, I'll try a lower class like you suggested.

I had a Class 4, 16gb Micro SD card that I had in my last 2 phones and transferred to my Razr HD and it was working fine up until about a month ago. I noticed my phone was getting really slow and lagging. When checking the power usage, I noticed that the SD card was usually right below the display in power usage.

I purchased this card (32gb, Class 10 SanDisk) from Amazon and have had it in my phone for about 2 weeks and now my Razr HD is no longer lagging and the sd card is now towards the very bottom of items in power usage.

I had the same issue with 3 cards beginning after my Max HD was about seven months old. I ended up swapping out my phone. With the new phone, I make sure to press "unmount SD card" in settings rather than just ejecting. I have heard that not doing so can cause problems. So far so good. (2 of my cards were class 4. The one in the middle was class 10.)
