SD Card disappeared after Android File Transfer

Lurker
Hey,

I have (or had) an encrypted SD-Card in my phone (Sam Gal S5). While I was backing up files from it via Android File Transfer the connection got lost and my SD disappeared in all apps. I still have the option to decrypt it, but it gets stuck at 0% and shows an error after a while. Does somebody know if there is a way to retrieve the data.
THANKS!

Hmm, AFT uses the MTP protocol rather than USB Mass Storage, so a disconnect shouldn't do any harm (I've had vast numbers of AFT disconnects over the years). The card being encrypted reduces options a lot, unfortunately. I don't suppose unmounting, physically removing and replacing the card and remounting will do anything, but it's about all I can think of since an encrypted card is only usable in the phone.

thanks for the advice. I'll see what I can do. Maybe I turn to the official Android support, if there is on, since it's all google products involved

Maybe, but it's actually a Samsung phone running Samsung's implementation of Android. Google themselves haven't included SD cards in their own phones since 2010. So worth a try, but don't be surprised if they point you towards the manufacturer.

ahh, that's gonna be fun.
Highly valuable data on that card. Otherwise I wouldn't make such a fuzz o_O
