SD card formt

Lurker
I have a 16 gig MicroSDHC card coming for my Huawei U8150 Ideos do I format it with fat32 or exfat?
Thanks:)

It's odd. These phones can format a previously formatted SD card, but they can't do an unpartitioned card. It needs formatting on another device (e.g. PC) first.

I am in a quandary - why Format a new card?
I have installed a 4GB Micro SDHC card and I took photos which were stored on the card. If the system OS is Linux - why Format the card in a computer to FAT or NTFS?
I recently purchased and installed an 8GB card and once again no need to Format. I think that if I need to Format the card, it will be for the need to delete Data/pics as the phone has the option to do this and it doesn't ask what type of Format is wanted.
If you Format the card in a comp, do you limit the type of Data that the card will accept by using FAT or NTFS?

maybe I wasn't so stupid after all. I never formatted my microSD card, works fine as far as I can tell, so I get the impression that maybe you don't need to.
