Sd card internal storage trouble

I have a Moto g4. I recently reformatted my SD card to be part of internal storage. The phone then transferred a bunch of stuff on to it, and I was happy. Then I tried to access the files and I couldn't. I rebooted my phone and found that the SD card was corrupted. When I look at my storage now, under downloads, I can see where my files are, but I can't open them or access them through any other apps. Is there any way to regain access? Or do I have to redownload these items? (Side note these are the internal storage downloads

If the data is corrupt it's not possible to retrieve it from the SD card

Your data is not corrupt, it has been encrypted when you elected it to be part of internal storage. This encrypted data can't be read by any other device...
