Help sd card management

Newbie
hi does anyone know how to keep music files that are on a sd card protected? bit concerned as some apps have permission to delete or modify card contents. lost all music off one card already, now got a samsung 16gb class10 card and all my music backed up to usb sticks. just wondered if there is a way to protect the card??

There should be a little slideing thing on the card to write-protect it. Certainly on a standard SD card so I would expect one on microSD too.

That would prevent anything else from being written to the card as well though so it may not much use if you're using it for other storage activity :o

I don't think micro SD cards have a lock.

BUT, I think if you transfer music to the card via a card reader and a pc, you can change the properties of the music folder by right clicking and going to properties. Make the folder and contents read only, and it should not be able to modify or delete them.Until you change it back again, via the pc.

PS
always have all data backed up, as things always go wrong!

I must admit, looking at pictures just now it doesn't look like there is. I hadn't really looked before.

I should have thought of "Read Only" though, far more suitable for the situation. Doh!
