SD card problems Huawei honor

Hey,

I recently bought a 32gb micro sd card for my Huawei Honor. Before that I was using a 4gb card and everything was working perfectely.
Now it took me almost the entire weekend to get music on the sd card and then make the phone recognize it, but now that I finally managed to do that (first formated through PC to Fat 32), the phone works really slow.
And by slow I mean not being able to do anyting else while listening to music, web pages randomly closing down all the time, apps like coin dozer working a lot slower or not working at all,...
My question is how do I solve this problem? Since I really can't find anything about it in Huawei forums or others. Or can it maybe be a problem of too much used space on the SD card (eventhough only 15gb is used)?

This is starting to really annoy me so a helpful response would be much appreciated :).

Thanks in advance!

You have 512 MB of ram. Regardless of the CPU speed, it may not be able to handle multitasking as well as high end phones.

Solution: Buy a phone with more RAM.

Have you moved any of the problem apps to the SD card? It is a slower storage method than internal storage. If it is a low class (2 or 4) SD card, the transfer rate is very slow and could affect performance.

As to the web crashing, I have no idea or explanation for that. That should have absolutely nothing to do with the card.

I haven't moved any apps to the SD card, only music in fact. And the card is a class 10 so that shouldn't be the problem eiter :p.

I just removed the SD card from the cell phone and the web crashing, sluggish performance, apps not working is completely gone. Putting the SD card back in => problems are back.

I just dragged and dropped the files from my pc to the cell phone and I'm now reading about File expert and such, could that be a solution, transferring the files like that?

Also I can't seem to format the SD card through the cell phone, it says 'update package not available'. Could that be a problem?

Thank for the effort BTW :)

This really doesn't make any sense to me....I've gone through over a dozen devices and have never experienced anything like this. Internet connection and SD cards have absolutely nothing in common. One should not affect the other....

Drag and drop works, just like any other removable storage. To my knowledge, transferring a different way wouldn't do any good.

My only other guess is that this is a device specific problem. I've never used Huawei (and never will), so I don't know for sure. There may be some odd code Huawei built in which doesn't interact well with SD cards.

Other than that, i have no clue. This is certainly not a core Android problem. All I can suggest is wipe and start over.

Owned the Honor 5x, 6x, and 7x. Amazing phones for the price. All worked flawlessly. Just bought a Huawei 256 gb SD Card shipped straight from China. $5 for the card, $5 for shipping. Was excited but worried because it sounded too good to be true. Inserted the SD Card and OS said "low speed SD card may cause UI to malfunction." Tried to start copying multigig folders to the SD card. Came back and transfer had quit twice with only about 2 gigs copied and the Windows 10 comnputer no longer recognizing that the phone was connected via USB. Formatted the card through the phone's UI, set the screen to never turn off and left USB transfer settings up on the screen before trying again. So far it hasn't timed out. Its about 1/3rd of the way done with 27 minutes left remaining. I'll try and come back and post a follow up with more expereince at a later date.

If that $5 for a 256gb SD card deal sounded too good to be true it probably was too good to be true since you found out it's not functioning properly:oops:
