SD card problems

GoEagles1

Lurker
I have a Moto g 5 plus running Android 8.1.
I can't move any of my apps on internal storage to the SD card. I can move apps from the SD card to the internal storage. My camera app always says "camera error, please restart camera" when I try to open it. I can't download photos or take screenshots. Apps won't update or download in the play store. This is the 3rd week of this happening. I have plenty of storage left on the SD card. I have no clue why this is happening and it is really annoying. I haven't been able to find answers anywhere. Thank you

Not all apps can be moved to the sd card, that depends if the developer incorporated that option.
If you go to settings, apps, and click on an app, it will say move to SD card, if not it will be grayed out.

I'm aware, but If I go into settings>apps and notifications>(any app that is on internal storage)>move, it starts to move the app, gets 10% in, and then says "task failed". The app I tried it on was just on the SD card so I know that it can be on there.

The last time I saw this, the SD card was defective... For safety sake, I would backup any information on this card immediately and replace it. MicroSD cards are cheap in comparison to lost data.

If the card has sustained physical damage (even if only Electro-Static Discharge) then you have no choice but to replace it with a new one.
