SD card problems

Hi I have a HD desire and have been using a new Sd card as the old one was full, yesterday I lost all the data apps I had downloaded and ringtones etc.
I tried to take out and insert the card again and it comes up with now you can safely remove the sd card? even when its in....
then it says mount the card? all too technical for me I didnt have much on the card but my photos are gone any help would be great please I would like them back. oh and a video clip too.

Bad news: There's no guarantee that you'll get the info back.

Have you tried to see if it'll read in a PC or another phone? It's possible that the card has failed, and the info is gone. By any chance do you still have the info on the old one?
