Help SD card Question

Half of those settings are about the launcher. If you use Nova (or Apex, ADW or anything but the stock launcher) then you've got a few less to deal with. ;)

Do you like the notch? Does it bother you at all or do you even care? The only issue I see with it are reducing the number of icons in the top bar.

I do use Nova so thanks for telling me. I'm setting up the V40 now. Unfortunately, the LG transfer app didn't transfer all my files. It missed most on my SD card. Now I'm trying to figure out which app to use to wirelessly transfer the missing files. It skipped all my backup files. If I don't transfer them, I'll have to setup all my apps from scratch. Ugh!

Bummer...

I had already set up my MSD when I got the new one so I only had to transfer the internal information.
Backed up my contacts with a VCF file.
Created backup files for others and had them waiting on the card.

I'm backing up my backup folder to my Google Cloud drive. Then I can get them to my new phone. I used to be able to connect phones directly with ES file manager, but I can't find that option anymore. I'll just go slowly. My old phone still gets emails and has my calendar so it's no rush
So far I've used the the included text app. Not great. The phone call clarity if fantastic compared to my HTC 10. So I'm pleased so far.

Actually, I finally found the ability to transfer files wirelessly with ES File manager. That is working great. I almost have the LG set up.

Um, you do realize that ES is now a Chinese company, is data mining and pushing adware? I'd get rid of that thing ASAP.

Yes, I heard the same thing and believe it. I've been looking for a replacement for a while. It's difficult to give up when I'm so used to using its capabilities. I'm open to any suggestions. And thanks for the heads up. I know I shouldn't be using it.

For the longest time, I keep an old version of ES on my devices, and never updated because of the ads. In my search for a replacement I found Explorer (Speed Software) and have been pleased with it.

I had used "Solid" before and it wasn't bad. The drawback was it only had 2 screens and couldn't add things to the Home screen. I may go back to that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Is that actually confirmed? I still use the ad free version - but I'm open to switching if there is something as powerful.

Just a simple search for "es file explorer china" brings up multitudes of articles warning that ES is now collecting data and sending it to China. What China is doing with that data is anybody's guess, and they really aren't being that secretive about it. They openly admit to collecting data through free apps (and even some paid ones.)

FYI ES has always been Chinese, and their "free" apps are monetized by user data mining and tracking to servers in China.
Full name for ES is Beijing EStrongs Information Technology Co., Ltd.
