sd card question...

Lurker
ok, my bf moved an app to his SD card. We r trying to remove it from the SD card to my phone. We both have HTC EVO 4G. Can anyone tell me how to do this plz and thx.

On the launcher, press the Menu button. Chose "Manage Applications". Wait a while (OK, more like half an eternity) and look for the application in the "Downloaded" or "All" tabs. Tap it. A dialog comes up asking you if you want to "Force Stop", "Uninstall", "Clear Data" and "Move to Phone" (if it's on SD and you want to move it back) / "Move to SD Card". You can move it/uninstall it by pressing the appropriate button.

Is it an app you can't get from the market any more? As I don't see you wouldn't just go into the market on your phone and download the app

It's the app power amp. My bfbought it and downloaded to his phone so we tried moving it to the SD card to share it on my phone, but I guess it doesn't work bc we actually had to buy it. Idk??

Yeah you can't share paid apps. They are associated with the google account registered to the android market they wer purchased from. Trying to move it to another phone is stealing the apk which is a no no no

If you don't want to pay for the app again I'm sure there is a free app that is comparable.
