sd card transfer

Got a new phone and can't figure out how to transfer my ringtones from the sd card to the phone,

No way, system storage is read only (if you're not rooted).
You can select ringtones from Music.
Or put the files in sdcard/media/Audio/ringtones and restart the phone, then you'll be also able to pick the ringtone in audio settings.
