"SD Card unexpectedly removed" notification

jjsararas

Lurker
Seeing this periodically over the last few weeks, even though as card has not been removed, and appears to be functioning normally. Just concerned that it may indicate a failing drive or something.

I just saw it last night as I was installing the latest software update. It just went away on its own. I've still got music on my card but I didn't think to check it.

It could be a couple of things, but there's really no way to tell for sure. It could simply be dirty connections in the card slot. Try ejecting and inserting the card a few times with the phone off to scrap the oxidation off the contacts.

It could be a failing card, too, so just in case make sure any data that you have on the card is backed up.

I had that problem and ended up switching out my SanSD card Ultra with a SanSD Extreme. That seemed to solve the problem. I think it had to do with the faster processing speed of the HTC 10.
