Sd card write protection

I recently rooted my phone and installed third party apps from off market sources. Now my phone says that the sd card is damaged and I'm unable to format it using a pc. I tried 'clean' command from disk partition but I'm still unable to format it. Help me fix this. I can copy data from the card so I have everything backed up. Please do not give instructions for recovery or suggest EaseUS data recovery app. other suggestions are very welcome. With less than 1.5GB writable space on my phone and a ton of apps, my phone is becoming very slow. Please help!!

What phone do you have? Why not buy a new MicroSD card? You can get 32GB cards for super cheap on Amazon. I'd go with SanDisk.

Might be your micro-SD card has actually failed. How long have you been using it? Do you have another you could try in the phone? Does your phone support USB-OTG, if so you could use that to copy data from the suspect one to another using a SD card-reader, without requiring a PC.

@Rob I'd say be beware of fakes here. We have had several reports on AF of counterfeit micro-SDs being sold cheap by Amazon vendors, both Sandisk and Samsung.

I have everything backed up already because the card lets me copy from it with a pc but not on the phone.

It has only been 3 months since I bought it. I don't have another with the same storage. Not the phone doesn't support usb otg

Guys I would like to thank you all for your support and inform you of events that have occurred since I posted this thread.

After posting this thread, I looked at the clam shell packaging the sdCard came in and found that it had a 5 year warranty and wrote to them through their support e-mail (support@sandisk.com). After getting the necessary information and authentication, today I recieved a message from them stating that I can get the sdCard replaced at their depot. Yay!! But I still have one question though.
Will I need to pay for the replacement??(message didn't say anything about that)

If it is a warranty I would not expect you to have to pay for it. Otherwise it wouldn't be a warranty replacement, it would just be buying a new one.
