Sealed Boxed S7 Edge - Locked or Unlocked?

Neeeko

Greetings Android experts,

Wondering if anyone can help with a straightforward question.

I am in the UK and have a Boxed and Sealed S7 Edge in front of me but don't know whether it's Unlocked or Locked to a particular UK Network.

I'm thinking that it should be possible to identify whether or not a S7 Edge is Unlocked or Locked from the information on the printed data label stuck on the end of the box.

Can any of you guys and girls tell me what to look for please?

Thanks and best regards,

Neeeko

From what I've seen, locked carrier version Samsungs should actually have the name of the carrier on the carton ID stickers, along with the model number, serial numbers, IMEI, etc. Something like "S7 Edge for Vodafone", etc.

There are web sites available that input the imei number and shows you all kinds of information relating to it, carrier being one of them. I have a link on my pc and will post it up next time I'm on it but Google should find it easily

The problem is, you're not supposed to be giving out your imei number on the intetnet for safety reasons. Is the website you mention really trust worthy?

The best person to ask is the seller or person who gave you Samsung S7 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge direct from Samsung are unlocked, but will lock to the carrier of the first SIM that you insert. Subsequent SIM cards from other carriers will not work on the phone once it is locked to the first carrier. To unlock the phone, you need an unlock code. If the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge from the carrier works the same as those direct from Samsung, then you can expect the device to be unlocked but will lock to the first carrier of the SIM that you insert. It can be unlocked permanently with an unlock code.
