Searching Gmail in Adroid - Not searching trash

Hi, just got an Android phone the other day. It's Gingerbread.

I have a problem where the Gmail app doesn't seem to search in Trash. For example I got some email from Amazon, and if I search for Amazon, it doesn't show any except ones I got archived.

Searching in the web browser version shows the same results as the Gmail app, but in addition I have the option to search trash, and then it shows all the Amazon messages. It doesn't seem to have that function on the app - am I missing something? Is there really no way to search trash by keywords?

As far as I know, the Gmail app does not have a built in capability to expand your search to include the trash, but you can modify your search to do so.

Instead of searching for "abc", search for "abc in:all" (to search all folders, including trash), or "abc in:trash" (to search only in trash).
