searching

How do you search a specific thread your on. The old forum had a search box that said search this tread. I can't seam to figure it out i don't want to search all threads and i don't want to have to drill down the list in advanced search every time i want to search just one area of the forum. Anyone know how to do this?

I think we're all likely in agreement that the forum's search function is one feature that was seriously crippled since the switch from vBulletin to Xenforo forum software. We (moderators) definitely feel that pain.

I believe that improved search capability is on the "to-do" list as we continue to get settled in with the new forum software but I don't know an ETA on that.

In the meantime, the best I can suggest is the clunky Advanced Search - or else using Google to search the forum. (Search for "your search query site:androidforums.com")

The best way to search any forum is Google Advanced Search

Google Advanced Search


All you need do is enter your search terms in the first blank:

scroll down to the web domain, and enter the major web link to ...../forums for the website of interest.

Works like a charm and is far faster than any builtin search tool in a forum.
