Root Secure Boot Error 1003

Newbie
Hi,
I got my Stylo from Boost Mobile about a week ago and today I successfully rooted it through YouTube. I also downloaded a twrp file for the Stylo and flashed it using flashify. Flashify says that the file was successfully flashed but when I try and reboot into recovery, I get [Dont remember numbers sorry] Secure Boot Error 1003 and then it says "Entering recovery mode" or something like that. Then it shows the LG symbol again then boots up normally. How can I successfully install TWRP?

Note: I'm on Boost Mobile and on Android 5.1.1
Please help.

You need to enable Developer Options by going to About Phone -> Software Info - > Tap Build Number till developer mode is on.

Then go to Developer Options at bottom of Settings and enable "Enable OEM Unlock"

See? Its already checked.

Already have OEM Unlock enabled. Don't know what to do

Okay then that makes sense. I must have gotten the file for TMobile without reading properly. Are there are recoveries for the Boost Stylo?

There isn't, bcuz you guys (Boost users) have lock bootloaders even if you check OEM UNLOCK won't unlocked/do anything

Yes, I have a locked bootloader. I was hoping there was a fix that I hadn't found yet. I'm also looking for a stock recovery.

I have a Virgin Mobile LG Stylo Marshmallow 6.0. I was having storage issues and the SD Card would always default to external and not allow me to use the extended internal storage option built in to 6.0. T o resolve this, i wanted to root and then use Link2SD with a partitioned SD card.

Anyway, I used Kingroot, but did not select the "Enable OEM Unlock" option. When the phone rebooted, I am now stuck in a never ending cycle of "Secure booting Error!" "Error Code" 1003" "OFFICIAL !!" It jjust loops back to that that screen and will not proceed any further.

I have booted into recovery and attempted almost every option to fix this. No luck. Looking for any assistance on this. Thank you in advance.

You have to send it to LG. They'll fix it, takes like 10 days total. Which version of kingroot did you use. I ask because OEM Unlock may not have been the problem, thanks

jmacie, thanks. Not sure what version of Kingroot I used. Latest one in the app store. I got lazy and did not follow specific directions since rooting my son's Tribute 2 was so easy.

Any idea how much LG charges for fix? Wondering if it is even worth it considering you can now fin the Stylo for $100 even.

LG will fix it for free send you a prepaid label, you just have to not tell them you were rooting, just say it bricked, they just want a copy of bill of sale, but I've also heard someone returned theirs and forgot to put the copy in and they fixed it. I asked about the kingroot version as I'm trying to figure out how these bricks are happening. I know older kingroots weren't working and I bricked twice with kingroot but neither time was it a secure boot error and I re started and re temp rooted over and over. I was using the lastest kingroot from kingroot.net. I bricked editing build.pro and freezing and root uninstalling google apps, not with oem unlock enabled. Anyway good luck, kingroot is for up to Lollipop only and everyone is using it on Marshmallow.Because Marshmallow is new I think LG isn't making a big deal about reflashing since the warranty is for a year

I checked too, it was not kingroot on playstore. When we had Lollipop and were able to root we didn't need to have OEM unlock checked. We never had any ability to unlock the bootloader, that's why I'm thinking that the brick that says "secure boot error" isn't because people didn't have it checked.
KingRoot on XDA does work. Just don't think you know better then ChainsFire and try to install SuperSU and BusyBox ;]
I've been using the newest kingroot 3-27-16, not from xda, but from androidzone to get temp root. It doesn't restart phone and temp roots the first time. I did my few build.prop edits and added tether and then just uninstalled kingroot so that if it bombs and has to involuntarily restart that it won't be on the phone, and I have restarted and re temp rooted ten times. I'm just staying away from the debloating of google root apps and too many build.prop edits. 2 times bricking was enough for me. That's why I'm asking specifically how people are bricking to kind of see if I can stay away from it if possible.

i get the error when i try to use kingroot on my metro i flashed to M...i had all the right boxes clicked
today will be the third time reflashing M....imma be happy and leave it alone..
and wait till further developments

What would people be interested in changing in build.prop these days anyway?
Adoptable storage, tethering, although tethering may not have to be added, but that's where I started when I activated tethering, all apps available in dual windows, audio.dolby.ds2, and trying to figure out if OTG might be functional thru usb build.prop edit

All,

Thanks. I will contact LG and explain it happened when upgrading to 6.0.

If I could go off topic for a moment, is there a way to disable the 6.0 upgrade? If not, is there a way to make the VM model utilize the internal storage on an SD card. Only have an external option no matter what how I formatted (fat32, ext4, etc.)

jmacie,

Thank you. Phone was sent to LG and fixed free of charge. it was returned with MM 6.0 installed on it. Unfortunately, I run a version of Tiny 7 on my computer and it will not allow we to perform the tutorial listed above.

Currently running a system update now that was just downloaded. Stupidly, I decided to install it without doing any research. Fingers crossed.

Once again, thank you.

I tried to get twrp recovery for my lg tribute 2 boost mobile and bur got a message that said error 1003. And now i
would like a link for the stock recovery.
