Security unlock using PIN/FACE on 5.0, landing location

I can't seem to figure out why once I unlock my phone it goes to contacts vs my home screen? This was not the case with 4.4.4. Is this a bug or setting? Doesn't seem to change if I use any other way to unlock example swipe. Stills goes to contacts vs home screen. I'm hoping it will go straight to my home screen. Thank for you help.
 
Does it go to your contacts app, or your dialer app?

I'm thinking that you could be swiping left to right, which will open your dialer app vs swiping bottom to top to open to your last app. But I could be wrong. let us know.
 
That would be the case. Swiping bottom up gives me my home screen. Swiping left to right gives me my Speed Dial/recent/contacts. Swiping right to left gives me my camera. Did this change from Kit Kat to Lollipop? I don't think I've ever swiped from bottom to the top. Thanks for your help. I can live with this.
 
Yes, this is new with Lollipop. Don't you see the phone and camera icon when you swipe left or right on that screen?
 
Swipe right is phone dialer or contacts, swipe left is camera, swipe down is notifications and swiping up is unlock to your current page or where u left off at.
