Seeing files on the GSIII

Lurker
I had to download a USB driver to see files under Windows 7, but a friend of mine says he could see files when first plugged in the USB. Still another said that WMP handles it, but mine didn't. In both My Computer and WMP, I see the phone as a device SPH-710 but when I click on it there's nothing. Of course, My Files on the phone itself shows lots of stuff on both the phone memory and the SD card. Any ideas why this happens?

When you connect to the USB, do you have connect as MTP checked or connect as camera checked on your phone?

You could try downloading Kies. Don't use it to actually connect with but this will make sure you have the latest drivers installed.

When you connect your phone as MTP you should see a dialog box on your PC where you can select view file folders.

Ditch the USB cable, and download AirDroid from the Play Store. You'll see all your files on your computer screen, via wifi. Bingo.:p
