Hi everyone, as the title says, I'm looking into a new phone and while I've done some research myself, I wanted to get some input from people more into phones than I am in case I missed some good options... Here are my must haves (in order of importance):
Based on this list, I'm not looking at high-end, flagship models. I don't care at all about data transfer speeds or anything data-related. I'm a minimalistic phone user: I use it for music playback, texting, phone calls, checking email and fbook messages in order of decreasing use. I'm not getting it on a contract, so as long as it's unlocked or unlockable and has a SIM/microSIM slot, carriers are a non-issue. If you know a few phones that fit the bill, please list them. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
- Better than average battery life
- Fairly small size, ie: 3.5-4.3" screen, and if approaching the upper end of that range, it should be thin (< 1cm / 0.4")
- At least 720 pixels in the greater dimension ie: 480x800 is OK, 320x480 NOT. Non-TFT screens are preferred (AMOLED, etc.)
- GPS: a real GPS, not aGPS that relies on carrier data
- Expandable storage (microSD)
- $300 or less price without contract
- ICS or newer
- standard connectors (ie: microUSB, 3.5mm headphone), not proprietary
- at least dual core CPU, 1GB RAM
