I'm attempting to clean my internal memory and am wondering about a few files & file types. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
ABOUT MY DEVICE:
Device: ZTE N9520 (Max)
Service: Boost Mobile
Android Version: 4.1.2
Baseboard: N9520B01
Kernal: 3.4.0-SVN11939
***My phone IS rooted via iRoot for Mobile through https://www.mgyun.com/m/en
***I am currently using a replacement launcher; I am using Cheetah launcher by CC launcher. (However I am interested in trying a different launcher out since my phone is rooted...any suggestions?)
***I currently use DU Speed Booster & Cache Cleaner at this time, which also doubles as a system scanner. (However, I am up for suggestions concerning system/virus scanners, speed boosters &/or system cleaners, as well.)
Here are my questions:
1.) What exactly does "baseboard" mean/do for my phone? What about "kernal"?
2.) How do I know what files &/or file types I can safely delete? I know that files with ".temp" can be, but what else?
3.) In my file manager there are 3 specific files I am curious about, can anyone tell me what they are?
- phone.aid.bak
- phone.profig.os
- phone.userreturn
4.) Is there a way to find out what files go to what program? I realize that quite a bit of them are obvious, but there are some in my phone location with such absurd names that I cannot place with a specific program, app, etc. I will give an example:
(a) phone.occultation
- phone.occultation.data_json
- phone.occultation.img
- phone.occultation.run
(**None of these files have anything in them, btw)
(b) phone.romsu
(c) phone.dianxin
- phone.dianxin.notify
(**This file doesn't have anything in it, btw)
(d) phone.dianxinos
- phone.dianxinos.com.dianxinos.optimizer.duplay
(**This file doesn't have anything in it, btw)
(e) phone.moxiu
- phone.moxiu.pic
*In the pic file it has about 31 files that are varied by the numbers but all look like: phone.moxiu.pic.12c4da6514a0578602966ebb73aee703.0
(**NONE of these files will open - why is this?)
5.) What is the file ".ndownloads" for? Where did it come from, it just appeared one day.
- It says it has 1 file in it (that I cannot open, btw) that says ".IME_ONLINE_00002A_img_1422255905353" - what the hell does this even mean & how did it get there?
6.) What is the ".gallery3d" for?
- phone.gallery3d.data
- phone.gallery3d.data.cache
- phone.gallery3d.data.picasa...
(**There are 10 or 11 separate picasa files. I have deleted them many times and they continue to reappear - what gives?)
7.) Are there any websites you can recommend that I go research to learn more information about the deep inner workings of my Android device - as well as what I can do (& how to do it) with my rooted device/rom/etc.
In advance, I thank and appreciate any helpful responses in this matter.
