I just got a Zenfone 6 that actually has internal storage (as opposed as the cheapie I had before which relied almost entirely on the microSD). As a result I'd like to keep on the microSD stuff that I'd hate losing (pictures, message backups, saved images...) and on the internal memory the apps themselves and data that is easy to redownload or copy from the PC (music, data for apps that have to download lots of stuff from their repositories).
The rationale is that if my phone breaks or drowns I can remove the microSD and almost certainly have the important data back, while also making use of the significant internal memory of the phone so I don't need to buy a bigger microSD.
Is there any way of selectively choosing which apps access which storage? A few apps have the option natively, but if they don't they basically do whatever they feel like.
My phone is rooted. I have yet to install xposed but I will if necessary.
